View Full Version : Exporting DWG without Lineweights

When exporting DWG drawings out the layers in Autocad automatically get lineweights assigned (ie 0.09mm, 0.18mm, etc.) from Revit. We typically use "Default" as our Lineweight in Autocad layers and assign thickness to the lines in the plot settings. Is there a setting in Revit so exported lines do not show up in Autocad with assigned thicknesses?

You can set up a 'Default' export layer template.
File_Import/Export Settings_Export Layers DWG/DWF
Set all lines to whatever 'default' is and save as a new export layer file

But aren't those simply the color ID settings? For instance 2 would export the line to the layer with a yellow line representation. I am referring to the fact that the lines in these layers actually get assigned a line thickness from revit in addition to the color they are assigned.
I think that those lineweights that you see in the layer listing only come into play if you set your CTB file to "use object lineweight". I have recently discovered that these lineweights give the best plotted representation of a revit file in autocad. Just set all your pens to black and the lines to plot using object lineweight and see what happens.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Otherwise I'll adjust the CTB file.
