I am trying to determine the percent of "glazing" on a mixed use building. I can schedule the areas of exterior walls ok through filters as well as standard window areas, but I have not been able accurately schedule the openings for curtain walls and storefronts. I can schedule the individual glazed panels or the individual mullions but these do not add up to the glazed opening I need.

Has anyone scheduled curtain walls to give you the overall opening area for each systems occurance?

If you schedule the panels by type & then under the formatting tab in the schedule properties, calculate totals for area, does that give you what you are looking for?

I can schedule the individual glazed panels or the individual mullions but these do not add up to the glazed opening I need.

What you're looking for is actually a Wall Schedule. Make a Wall Schedule, not a mullion or panel one, and then filter out all the non-curtain-walls so ou just get the Curtain Walls. You'll be able to get their area then.

@DG's problem (I'm assuming you've fixed it somewhere along the way in the past 8 years)
1. Vision Vs Solid Vs Curtain Walls- Make a Wall Schedule that shows you how much of your project is vision. Define either or by the wall's Type Comment parameter. Sort by Comment and calculate grand totals for area
2. %Visibility of Curtain Walls- Use the panel family's Type Comment parameter to refer to something as either solid or vision. Then sort by Type Comment and calculate grand totals of area.

It's not perfect but is a solution.
