I was exporting my sheets to DWG files to send to the contractor. I have a couple of jpg images in the titleblock. When I open the newly created DWG files in AutoCad, the jpg's, are white against the typical black background of AutoCad. I tried plotting the dwg's, the jpg's showed but also the border around the jpg image. I have not noticed this before. Is there some way to turn off the border around a jpg image?

If you're plotting from AutoCAD, then, yes. The command is "imageframe". You then toggle between having the frame on or off. Be aware that you may only pick the image when the frame is turned on.

Is this what you were after?....I didn't quite understand you query.

I'm sure once I set this up correctly exporting won't be so bad.

I've looked for threads that deal with exporting to AutoCad but I can't find the answer to this problem.

1. How do you handle Solid Region Fills. I'd like to Map the halftone infill's in the walls to a solid halftone hatch in AutoCad.

2. I have a Solid White behind this console hiding the access floor, but when I export it to AutoCad it masks the floor and the console and prints black.

hmmm.....here again, I think the answer will be to handle it in AutoCAD.......From memory I think the filled region is exported as a hatch?....Is so,
1. change it (the solid fill) to a colour not used in elsewhere
2. go to your plot lineweights file ( the .ctb file) that you use for plotting. Edit that colour to plot, say, a light grey colour.
3. In your drawing use the "draworder" command to send the hatch (again the solid fill) to the back.

If you're just trying to block out the tiled hatch pattern so as to not show under that cabinet, the above is one way. AutoCAD 2006 allows for trimming of hatch patterns using the standard trim command. You could try that also.

I hope this is what you meant. Get back to me if not.

That you should find is a quick enough work-around for the situation. If it's something your frequently doing, you should look at setting up your exporting layers....Check out the on-line help for this; it's a good tutorial.

Thanks for all your help John, it's been extremely useful. One last thing (hopefully) Do you know what category filled regions go to in the Export to layer file? I would like to have the solid fill pattern export to a different layer than just a standard fill.

When using Fill Patterns to block stuff out, use the Tip I posted HERE (http://www.augi.com/revit/default.asp?page=374) (Hint! Don't use a Solid!)

The office standard for existing walls are solid fills on A-WALL-EXST-PATT color 243
can I export dwgs from revit with that standard?

Currently I get them on layer 0 and color 10.
