We just got back from a meeting with the client, and now that someone new is at the head of their group we have taken an 85% complete package and turned it into a 30% package. Major changes to this govenment office building floor plan.

Besides the changes to the floor plan, originally we were told that a wall would already be constructed and in place on the west side of our office remodel. Well, now they are saying "just incase the wall isn't constructed before you start your project, construct the wall as part of your project and include any demo of any items that would need to be removed in order to construct the new west wall". Then to make it tougher they want me to be able to remove that portion of the package, just incase they other tennants are in place and the wall is already constructed before our package.

Currently I only have an "Existing" and "New Construction" Phase. How would I set the phases up now?

Would it be useful to set up each possible scenario as an alternate bid item, and then do corresponding phases? "Alternate I Phase", etc. I believe you could also do plan options within each phase if needed.

Thanks for the reply. I assume you're talking about using design options? I hadn't thought about that but it seems to make since that it should work. I have only read the tutorial on design options but it didn't seem that difficult. Still not sure how I'm going to setup the phasing though???

I think This Topic (www.zoogdesign.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=12613#12613) could set you on the right path.

Excellent thread. I was pondering some of that stuff myself.

Again, a WIKI would be nice! :)
