I created a Shared Tool Palette and it works on all my workstations except for one. This workstation I'm able to add the catalog but when I go to use the I-drop to drag it to the Tool Palette the I-drop is not there, I get a box with a small red mark inside (where the I-drop should be). Not sure why. Iv'e tried re-installing I-drop same thing. It's also this way in 2005. I've also tried logging in as Admin. and I still get the same box with a red tick mark and no I-drop symbol to drag from. Any ideas?

What version & SP of windows are you running?

Windows XP with SP2, the same as all the rest of my machines. I'm also using ADT 2006 with SP1.

Have you tried running the dot net fix on the install disk? Might give that a shot.

I just gave that a try and still no I-drop symbol only the red mark.

If it's only on one system this is happening in your office, then I would suspect something is amiss on this specific computer & ADT is not at fault. Compare settings between computers that work & the one that doesn't.

I agree with Steve, this definitely sounds like something's amiss in the Windows settings. That little red X means that there's something missing from windows and it cannot display the image properly, which is killing the link to the idrop capabilities.

Thanks for the post. I didn't cross my mind that it could be a windows problem I figured it was ADT problem. I did completly remove all version of .net and re-installed but no luck. I also tried tried creating a new windows profile for the user still nothing. Then I tried it as logging in as Admin. but I got the same thing. Maybe now I'll unsintall/reinstall all Hotfixes and SP's to see if that corrects the problem.
Do you know other than .net is there any other part of windows that I should also look at?

One last thing you can try is to do a clean install of ADT. Do a search for that either here or on autodesk's website for a comprehensive list of steps to perform.

Hummm...
I have the exact same problem. I installed the idrop download from Autodesk and it worked.....until I shut down and started up the next day and it stopped working again. If you find a fix please post.

After everything that I tried as listed in the above posts. What ended up working was uninstalling and re-installing ADT. Make sure to delete ADT data that is also located under Documents and settings for that user.

I felt that the problem was due to an "outside force." After reviewing my applications further this appeared to be the case. An internet clean up utility is used that contains an option to "erase downloaded Active X files." When this utility is used with that option AutoCAD idrop fails to work. When the same utility is used without the option Autocad idrop functions. The solution seems to be then not to use any internet cleanup utility that allows for cleanup of Active X files.
