g'day fellow reviteers!
Just a quick question..
How do you make the material semi-transparent and see through in elevation view? (Not rendering views)
I tried all kinds of method but to no avail...

You can't do that in a shaded elevation view, only in a rendered elevation view. We're talking semi transparent here.
Would be nice though.
You can however set the opening to not display in elevation - In the opening family, select the opening, then on the Options Bar select the option called "Transparent In:"( the choices are "3D" and "Elevation"). Select "elevation."

Richard -
I'm going to venture a suggestion (it's a bit easier if you've enabled Worksets - but not necessary). This also works for 3D Views/Perspectives:
1. Create elevation from outside of the building to just inside; this view will only show the Shell Workset. Set the view's properties to Wireframe and model elements to halftone.
2. Create another elevation from just inside of the building to the desired depth; this view has the Interior workset visible - the Shell workset is turned off. Set View's properties to Hidden Line and leave the model elements at full tone.
3. Overlay the views on a sheet. The views should snap when they are aligned on top of each other.

Would be nice if entire Worksets could be set to "Transparent" or "Halftone". Till then...
All the best -
