When using design options, I often want to create the same thing in both options. It is easy to add something to multiple options when you are first creating the options, but it gets tougher after that (at least for hosted objects).

For instance, we have a project that is being bid with two different bid options for configuration. The ceiling and lights, etc are the same in both options except one small part. The ceiling has to be in the design option since it is different, and the lights have to be since they are hosted by the ceiling. Well, we modified and added to the lighting layout , which had to be done in both options. We changed it in one, copied to the clipboard, stoped editing option 1, edited option 2, and pasted to same place. This works, but it would be nice to be able to go to edit->paste aligned->pick options by name and pick which design options to paste it into.

Thoughts?

I think it would be reasonable for the Add to Option Set command to be enabled even if the selected elements are already in an option. It should only allow adding them to other options in the same option set that don't already have a copy of the selected element. For further discussion, see my post in this thread: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=34940.

Yes, that would work too.
