Demo'd in the same phase as created...

Someone, at some point, demo'd an existing window... in the existing phase. Now all I can pick is the infill, which doesn't give me the options to fix the window. Without deleting the whole wall and all it's other hosted objects (quite the event) is there a way to show that original window?

Change your view's phase to Existing. The demo'd window will now appear as a Temporary Phase Condition with the Display conditions controlled by your Phase Filter settings.
You can pick it from this view now.

Must be something else than, no matter what phase I'm in, I only see the infill. Quite strange and a bit frustrating.

View Properties>Show All. It should show or be able to tab in that area to select what is there. There could be a dbl.

I was wasting too much time chasing windmills. So in true Revit fashion, I deleted the wall which took all the quirks with it and redrew it.
