Hi there

Once I have created a reference plane how do I go about viewing that plane directly on if the reference plane is at a funny angle to the common elevations, plans, sections etc. ie. How do I create a view that is parrallel to the reference plane if the plane, which is at a funny angle?

Thanks
Craig

1. You can place a wall on the ref plane (use the pick tool to select the ref plane) - when placing your elevation it will snap into alignment with the wall face

2. You can place a grid on the ref plane and then when placing the elevation marker check the orient to grid box on the option bar.

Thanks, but this still doesn’t solve my problem! My reference plane is angled in elevation so that rules out drawing grid lines, and walls at angles in elevation as this is impossible as far as I know! I have attached a simple example of what I am trying to do…

Thanks

make section parallel with the sloping Ref Plane in Plan View> go to an elevation view with the section line and Ref Plan visible > rotate the section line to be parallel with the Ref Plan.
