Area analysis ?

Hi all,
1.Whenever we place an area tag we have the area types mentioned in the properties bar for building common area, services etc if i want to add a different area type saying its the internal area/ staircase etc how can i do that?.
2.My next query is regarding the monolithic stair how does it actually calculate the thickness for the underside of the winder for the stepped option?

2.My next query is regarding the monolithic stair how does it actually calculate the thickness for the underside of the winder for the stepped option?

The " landing Overlap " controls the distance between the riser face and the vertical face of the step on the underside, for monolithic stairs set to stepped winder.
