walls in groups attaching to floors

If i have a typical suite group that contains walls, then i add it around a project. if i want to add a floor i cant control how the walls will attach to it, correct? once the walls are in the group, i no longer have control over the connection of the walls to the floor?

Does anyone have a work around for this? Is the only solution to make the walls the correct height from the start? what would you do with the top floor, where the ceilings might be vaulted?
