Hi,

At the moment I haven't got the drawings. But, the roof has
two different arcs of diiffent radius at the two ends with
spiral (helical) path. This object can easily be created
using loft in Inventor.

I did saved the file in .sat format in inventor & then tried
to import it in Revit, but couldn't do so.

Your comments please.

Please post file which you tried to import (if not very big) or send it through Support.

Do not use scaling in the family of import symbol, or scaling at the import time (with value 5 or more). Original model especially when having tangent faces might have gaps enough for Revit to accept it only partially. Model at proper scale in Inventor. Thanks.

Please post sat file, not drawings.

Hello,

I have not yet created model in inventor. Before that I would like to know --

Is it possible to work on sat file in Revit? I want to place that model as a roof in Revit.
I have imported sat file from Inventor but could not work on it in the sense it was't possible
to rotate it or convert it to mass or roof?

Thanks for your time.

Create an in-place roof family (Tools > Modeling > Create). While editing the in-place family (and before you create any other geometry) go to File > Import and import the SAT file. Place it where it needs to be; then when you click Finish Family the SAT geometry becomes part of the Revit model. You will be able to attach walls up to the object, etc.

Thank you very much Wes

It seems a difficult 3D model can be created in
Inventor & then imported to the Revit Family as a sat file &
then further processed upon.

This is an old thread which gives some idea of how you might get there in vanilla Revit.
