Group;

I just found this new card that came out with 1GB of video memory.
I read that it can only go up to 2560 X 1400 for dual displays.
That wouldn't support the 30" LCD's that does 2560 X 1600.
I wonder if this is a typo. I surely hope so.

You beat me too it.

Of course, I'm convinced that AutoCAD is still trying to do all fo their fancy stuff in the CPU, so the graphics card is just for bragging rights. I can't even use the heads-up cursor with transparency on my nVidia 1400 with 256MB ram - the reaction time is so slow its painful, so I jsut went back to the command line.

I say what we really nead to run 2007 is this card and this (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/11/supermicro_super_amd/) quad-chip, dual-core motherboard with four Opteron 885s. The 1U form factor is so that it can sit right below your keyboard and keep your knees warm in the winter.

Hello Jordan;

The motherboard you linked is for server use only.
Can this be used with the 1GB video card as a work station?
I guess we will have to wait till they develop something down the road.

Oh, I spoke too soon. I think you'll find that this system (http://www.dell.com/html/us/products/renegade/renegade.html) is the one that you'll really need for 2007. Heck, it might just squeak by and be able to run 2008. ;-)

Here goes the Alienware version with a liquid cooled system.

BTW I just recently heard they have been bought out by Dell.
