Track actual editing time

Is there a way to keep track of actual editing time. Perhaps a switch that will turn off the timer when there has been no actions taken in a drawing for a predefined period of time?
I need to accurately keep track of how long it take to complete a design, any ideas on how to best do this.

There is no switch to turn off AFAIK. This has been discussed before in the Programming (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=88) forums.
