I apologize for bringing this one out of the woodworks but I don't really understand what the previous posters were actually doing.

I NEVER use groups but it appears that this is the best way around the issue. I want to create a group with a point and ordinate info so that when inserted, it will automatically update the NEZ values.

How is this done?

You could create a Dynamic Block, if using 2006, with attributes linked to the coordinates of the block.

Sorry, 2004 is all I have been permitted to use.

I guess I could always open the file with my 10 year old version of microstation and leader everything that AutoCAD can't handle. LOL.

Hi

For starters, have you seen the following threads...

Routine to insert object and label with coordinate?

Survey coordinates - Leader line with E & N Prefix and 3 digit decimal

Point ID and coordinates

Have a good one, Mike

This sort of functionality is in Land Desktop in the Autocad world (and now in Civil 3D).
