I would like to see my roof line in the hidden line format in a view that doesn’t cut the roof! The best solution I think would be to sketch the roof line using Detail lines
Is there any other more efficient way of achieving this?
Thanks

I'm nto sure if i understand correctly but try that. Create a sperate view for your roof (you probably already have one). change the roof linetype to hidden then simply overlap that view on the sheet.
See the attach example.

also
in the plan view you want your roof to be in hidden line
> set underlay the level were your roof can be seen.
> use Linework Tool > Hidden Line > and select the ridges of the roof you want to show up
> set the underlay back to "none" again
> hidden lines will remain and keep track with the ridges even when you edit the roof.

I guess you want to see the roof line in the plan view of the floor under the roof.
So, why use hidden and not overhead? As far as I know, this way when changing the roof you will see the changed perimeter with no correction.
