What is a lookup parameter/action? I see that some of you are using it in ways that are similar to the visibility parameter. I can't seem to make it do anything.

It's a way of giving yourself more options. The lookup parameter allows you to set predefined lengths for other parameters. Like if you have 2 sizes of boxes you can uses a lookup to stretch the box instead of having to draw the other box in a visibility state. Look in the dynamic block sharing group for plenty of examples too.

I can't get it to work. I add a lookup parameter and then a lookup action for the parameter, but that's as far as it goes. When I edit the action properties and select lookup table (which invokes the BLOOKUPTABLE command) it asks me to select a lookup action. I pick the lookup action (the one I just inserted) and acad tells me it's not a lookup action. catch 22. What am I not getting?

You're right. SP1 fixed it for me. At least I can see the table now. Still haven't figured out how to set it up.

My personal advice is for you to go through the New Features in your help menu and go through the Dynamic Block Creation walkthrough. It's slow as molasses but you're sure to get the general gist of things to do with lookups and vis states.

On top of that, go through the Sharing thread and look through some of the blocks we've posted so far.
