demo - cutting holes into existing floors

I have a model of an existing building. I need to cut (demo) some fairly large areas of the existing 2nd floor slab in order to create a new open 2 story volume. But I cannot seem to get the demo tool to work the way I need it to. What would be the best way to accomplish this?

You need to create separate floors in the existing phase. Then you need to use the linework tool to hide the slab edges. Demo the "hole" floor in the New construction phase. Use the linework tool "invisible lines" to hide the edges of the existing floor to remain.

Sound tough but, once you do it, you'll be fine.
