make linework tool go backwards?

Once the linework tool has been applied, is there a way to get the linework tool off? for example if i had a bit of wood trim that overlapped anopther piece, i would use the invisible line to "join" the 2, but if the trim moved away from each other how do i get the line to come back? I know i could draw another linework piece over it, but i was wondering if i could just get it back to the original state.

Sorry after typing this and submitting it, i has working away and found the <by catagory> linetype in the linework tool. this seem to do the trick!

Activate the linework tool and choose <by catagory> in the pull down. Click the lines and it will go back to original
