Greetings all,
I've never been to a AU before and from all of the people I've talked to its a excellent event to go to to learn and share new and exciting ideas. So now that I have moved jobs, my company is interested in sending me to AU 2006 (yeaaaahhh). The problem and the question is that I have no idea what this event costs, and I need to come up with a budget by April 15th.
The AU website doesnt have any information and won't officially be up until the summer. I can't seem to get anyone to return my calls froom the contact information supplied on the AU site.
So can someone please give me some kind of general cost from previous AU's that I can at least give my boss a preliminary budget. I don't need specifics like airfair, just the cost of the event and usually what's included in that fee.
I appreciate it in advance..
Michael

Expect to pay about $1300 for the conference & hotel room is usually included with that for the conference - if you register early which you want to do anyways because classes fill up early. Keep in mind the price I list is based on previous years costs. It might be going up a little this year.

Here's the official AutoDesk AU 2006 Web site (http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2006/).
It has some good information on it, but registration information won't be posted yet.

Hi mflure.80520,
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the Coffee Without Cad (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=45) forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks,

Hi,
I just checked my receipt from last year; the full 4 day conference was 1795 (which included the hotel room); and an extra $100 for the Monday morning sessions. I also had received a $400 rebate from the manufacturing professionals; so the conference cost me about $1500; plus some extras (cab from the airport; gifts at MGM; mini-golf with Steve, Jen and Eric; drinks in and around the hotel lobby, etc).
This includes almost all of your meals, the AUGI annual meeting and beer blast, the exhibit hall (where there is usually food and drink flowing); there is typically an evening event one night (last year it was a night at MGM Studios with dinner); and three and half JAM PACKED days of learning and networking with peers from around the world.
Good luck - it is by far the best training around for the price.

If memory serves, Early Bird registration was $300 less.
Again if memory serves, AU 2005 cost $300 more than AU 2004. Such an increase I believe was mainly due to differences in hotel costs between Las Vegas ( AU 2004 ) and Orlando ( AU 2005 ).
~ fingers crossed ~ as AU 2006 is being held in Las Vegas, the cost might return closer to AU 2004 prices.
Have a good one, Mike

Have a good one, MikeTrue, but it is at a much better venue this year at the Venetian (way better tham MGM... IMHO...)
