I have noticed that the Revit schedule is always column based. Is there a way to make them row based ? To understand better, please refer images 1 & 2.

Another question I have is,
We typically do room data sheets in Excel and I wanted to try to this in REVIT. Is there a way to create a schedule similar to image 3 in revit, where revit would put a check mark for an item that is present in the room ?

Thanks

No. The middle image could be done with a tag in a plan. Schedules are pretty inflexible graphically.

Feeling industrious? You could use Revit to compile and manage the data and use ODBC to export and recompile the information into prettier report form using a database application.

THIS (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=21694&highlight=schedule) thread is not directly related but may give you some good ideas on how people deal with the lack of graphic flexibility in Revit.
