Has anybody experienced this problem? Conical roof doesn't accept hatch (model or draft) and this is very annoying (see attached image)

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Yes, I noticed that and as far as I can see there's no way to solve this problem.

Thanks anyway for your answer, I find this bug very annoying.

bump

Curved roofs now accept hatches, but alignment is a problem (see attached).

Any thoughts on how to straighten it out?

can you make it just a circular array of triangles since most likely it will be built this way anyway... then hatch the flat surfaces

just an idea...

Ray Salmon is right about not creating it as a true circle. Actually you don't have to do a circular array of triangles. When sketching the roof footprint, select Lines and instead of using straight lines or rectangles, select the third option and choose Polygon from the drop down menu. You can select something like 32 sides so the polygon will be almost like a circle but still keeping straight lines. You can align the roof tiles to the edges of the roof.

Thanks, I knew there were other solutions to modeling the roof. But I thought the "hatch on curved surface" problem had been fixed in RAC09.

FWIW: The simplest way to "facet" a curved roof is to segmentalize the curved sketch line (see attached).

The problem with faceting the roof sketch is that you get tons of hip lines in plan and elevation. I suppose you could hide those with line work.
