Removing constraint?

I have created a in place family (beam) in section. when i go to the plan veiw it won't let me move the beam in the x direction only the y direction. i uncheck the constrain button and it still will only move in the y direction. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

more info needed. Did you use reference planes to construct. If so, the beam is restricted to being created along the reference plane used.

You must move it in sketch mode. pick the inplace family, click edit family, then move and unconstrain.
