Cut Roof for Dormer

I want to cut the large gable roof similar to the roof/dormer section on the left (main roof stops as dormer bypasses). For some reason, the roof on the right side (larger gable section) will not trim to the face of the dormer. When I edit the roof profile to step in along the dormer face the entire roof goes haywire and deletes a portion of the dormer.

Anyone else has this similar problem?

Hi Matt

Have you tried using the opening tool under modeling
Design bar/opening/pick face of roof/and then in site plan view go and sketch the opening into the roof the way you want.

Hope this helps(don't know if I under stand you right).
