We are running 2004, two of our machines are loading express tools properly.
The other three are not. I have tried every suggestion previously given in
the discussion forums, and a few other things. Nothing worked. The menu is
there, but when I try to use a command, ACAD returns an Autoload Failed.

Finally, because I had another small issue, I decided to copy the support
folder from one machine that was working to the network. Before copying over
my support folder, I just set the Support File Path to the copied folder on
the network. Viola. It works. So I copied over my support folder, and
redirected the Support File Path. This does NOT work. So I replaced my
original support folder. This still does not work. I then redirected the
Support File Path to the support folder on the network, and it works. My
Working Support File Path is still set to my original support folder.

Can anyone offer some advice?

Is there an acettest.fas file in the support path?

I would also check the user rights on the folder that isn't working, just in case.

Yes. All of the files are there. The menu is there. I have installed, re-installed, repaired....nothing helps. The strangest thing is that they worked not too long ago, and on one certain computer, I can't think of anything that changed. The other two have had to have the hard drives replaced. So I understand a change in those two.

If I type expresstools, nothing happens. It just goes back to command line.

This is so frustrating.

Are you doing network installations or stand alone? I think there have been problems with the network install, and, If I remember right, I had to install ET straight from the disks on each machine when we were running 2004. Maybe TS80434 (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=3376381&linkID=2475323) will help.
