Hi I am having some problems when rendering in Revit. When I rendering my drawings the trees, cars, people...pretty much any component that I bring into the drawing. The trees are all in pieces, the cars look like they've been in a car crash and the curves on the surfaces are all jaggedy!
Is anyone else having this problem and if so were you able to fix it?

Check your rendering settings. I use Best for raytracing setting. Also, you may need to check your reflection and transparency bounces. They may need to be increased from default 3 to 7-10. And lastly, what is you image size? 72 is used for quick looks at a rendering. 150 - 300 should be for final renderings. HTH

Darn it didn't work. I still get trees that come in pieces and the cars are still messed up!!

Can you post your rendering and a screen shot of your settings? May help us to help you.

Try changing your resolution to 150-300 dpi. The 72 is just a "draft" setting. If you're rendering the 3D view and not a camera view, then you should change the scale so that your pixel size won't be so large.

I only rendered it at 72 dpi so I could get you the screenshot faster. Even when I render it on a higher dpi setting it still comes out the same.

When I render a 3D view at a high scale to reduce the pixels it still comes out the same.

I'm starting to think it might not be a rendering problem but perhaps something else. Perhaps some element in the drawing is affecting the components that I insert.

Oh well thanks for the help.

Trung,

Does this only happen in this one file ( ie Have you rendered successfully before ? )
What video card are you using.?
Have you turned off open GL ?
What amount of RAM do you have ?

And lastly, can you send the file to support ?

Yes it is only happening in this one file. I don't know what video card I'm using and don't know if Open GL in on. But I do have 256 meg of RAM.[/quote]

I have noticed this as well but, only with the RPC people. Settings didn't matter. I just quit REvit and started it again and all seemed well. I had to do this a few of times throughout rendering process.

Trung,

256 Mb of RAM just isn't enough. You can just get by with 512, but 1 Gb is recommended.

I suspect this could be a big part of the problem.

Well I'm not sure if that's the case, I've rendered similar drawings and I never had such a problem before.
