View Full Version : How can I remake a (formerly deleted) Site Plan

I've got a project where someone deleted the Site Plan.
I can't find any way to re-create it.
View...New... doesn't have a Site option.
I can't copy from another project
Transfer Project Standards doesn't do it.

Any other ideas?

The site plan is just a floor plan.

Create a new floor plan and set the view range as needed.

Factory makes the site plan as a floor plan set to 1" = 40' I think, work plane set to ground floor, with the view range set to 0 and 0 for bottom and depth, and 200' and 200' for top and cut plane height. So just duplicate your ground floor plan and change the scale and view range to those settings, or something else if it would be better suited to your needs.

Thanks.

I thought there was something special about the Site, moreso than just a Floor Plan.

Site Plan Was Deleted (from Autodesk HELP):

Symptom: After deleting levels from a project, the site view no longer exists.
Issue: site view deleted.
Solution: Create a site view as follows:

Click View tabCreate panelPlan Views drop-down (Floor Plan).
In the New Plan dialog, clear Do not duplicate existing views.
Under Floor Plan views, select the level on which to base the site view.
Click OK.
In the Project Browser, rename the newly created floor plan view to Site.
Open the Site view.
Click View tabGraphics panelView Templates drop-down (Apply Template Properties to Current View).
In the Apply View Template dialog, under View Templates, select Site Plan.
Under View Properties, change any view properties as desired for the site view.
Click OK.

There is the site definition under manage -> project location, which sometimes needs to be redefined.

Good of you guys to reply. Dave's last reply was in 2006 though :)

Deleting floor plans or levels won't affect Project Location settings, though. Project Location is not tied to any specific view.
