View Full Version : Lines across view breaks?

In the picture, you see a pier which has a view break so it can be drawn as one detail. You'll also notice two lines on the right (one diagonal and one vertical) which are also broken. This is normally intentional, but I'd like to sketch lines for dimensioning and annotations.

The view break has unfortunately created a "no mans land" where apparently nothing can be drawn, and when I try to dimension the length from top to bottom the program crashes.

Any work arounds?

I think this is a know problem drawing across the crop boundary. Text really has some problems there.

However the dimensions should work and I often dimension across those boundaries and he dimension is correct.

Instead of drawing lines for text and details use a reference plane or better yet look into the auto align feature of text and dimensions. Will save you a lot of time.

When using Revit try not to draw too many lines for dimension witness. The Revit objects themselves work much better and will be more accurate over time.
