AM 2006 TUTORIAL

Is it just me, or does the tutorial for ACAD Mechanical 2006 absolutely suck? I have found it to be lacking and would like to know if I'm alone in my opinion.

Can't say as I've looked at it (it's low on my list of things to do) but there are a copule 2006 based official courseware (beginner & intermediate) books available. I haven't went though them yet either but upon initial glance they look ok.

There is a file called Mech Desktop User Guide.pdf which should be on the installation CD.

Also Autodesk have course ware publications (as mentioned above) for Mechanical Desktop, though I believe they were last updated for Mechanical Desktop 6 - nevertheless they cover the program in detail.

Also a book called Maximizing Mechanical Desktop 2005 by Ron K.C. Cheng which is available on Amazon.

There are a number of web resources which I would need to look up for you.

But as you say resources are limited, we develop our own technical guides for our MDT users, which unfortunately are not available for general release - which is a real pity as we cover stuff in MDT that is not available in any book.
