I am trying to set up a "Formula Property Definition" in a "Property Set Definition" which will sum the square footages of a particular "Area Style". For example if I have 3 area objects in my drawing and all three are the same "Area Style", the Formula Property Definition" would add the square footages of the three together. Can anyone help or is this even possible?
Thanks
Jason

I do not think you can do it that way
what you need to do is set Area groups and attach each Area you need to sum to the groups. the area attach will be sum in the group for you.

Are you trying to do this via vba? or should I move this thread to the ADT forum?

what version of ADT are you using?
The area group is the best way to get total square footage - that data will be exposed for scheduling.
You can also create a temporary schedule table that looks up areas using a classification, or by simply selecting the areas that are the same style, to populate the schedule. On the schedule tabgle, you can tell the SF column to total itself.
In 2007 the area group been replaced by a zone object, but works pretty much the same way.
let me kno wif this helps - thanks - david b.
