Revit 8.1 crashed

I was in the process of exporting to acad when Revit crashed. I saved as a recovery file as requested. When I went to open the recovery file a pop up told me that there was a software problem and the file wouldn't open.
Does anyone know what the real problem is and how I can open the file.

Best course of action would be to send an email to Revit Support describing everything you where do at the time & post where to post file.
