Does anyone know why my topo lines don't follow my topo pionts exactly? The lines will skip alot of points and try to travel in staighter lines that my topo actually is.

Can you post a screen shot of what you have vs. what you think you should have?

Thats just the way it is, recognize that revits topo surf is for design purposes not civil engineering purposes. You can however add points and get the lines very close to where you want them. Do a search for swale and I think you will find a post that describes how to do this.

I had to do couple of terrain lately, and I found it's easier and faster if you use AutoCAD to trace the site contour line and put a Z value on each of those lines, and import it into Revit.
This method gives you a much more accurate line contouring (Revit add each line imported in as series of points)
It won't be perfect match though mind you, but it will be pretty close, sometimes, Revit just have mind of its own :/

this is how I do it, as well.
on a good day, the file we get from the cival engineer already has all of the coutours on the right layer(s) and they are lpositioned correctly in the z dimension :P

While in edit, and after you have placed a point that doesn't attract the line, try pulling a point from an adjacent line.

I have found that, by adjusting the "passing through elevation" setting in "site settings" (only slightly to maintain accuracy) that I can make the Revit lines match up exactly with the Civils .DWG file. They will never all meet but you can get them very close.
