Can't see the columns when I insert them

I try to insert a rectangular concrete column but I can't see anything until I place it. Then maybe it needs correction.Why?

first check your visibility settings, then check your other floor plan views (i.e. foundatin, t.o. ftg.). Sometimes the coloumns are attached to the foundation or t.o. ftg. views.

also try placing them in the view above the view u want to see them in. ie... basement columns get placed in the first floor plan. after placement they can be moved and located in the basement plan
