Section Detailing

Any hints on what would be the best method of cutting a section through a residence
so that it makes it easier to add detailing lines, at the moment i cant adjust the view depth right, because i keep getting the profile of the roof in the background, in parts i dont want to see.

You could trace the parts of the roof that you want to see then hide the roof in the view.

Or, if you need to, use a Filled Region to cover the part of the roof that you don't want exposed.
