Text Width in Dimensions?

Is there a way to change the Text Width in dimensions? I have a Futura font that I am using throughout my project with a text width of 0.8 but when I use the same font in my dimensioning, I cant change the width and its too wide. Any Suggestions without changing my font?

You have to change your font, I have modified the Architxt font to have a .8 width factor and have another one just for dimensions that eliminates the spaces between the dash almost completely

Nope cannot change the width factor in dimensions or in schedules and it wasn't fixed in 9....new font is your answer

With that program, is there a quick way to compress the width of all the letters and symbols?

I couldn't find a way to do them all at once, had to open each letter and manually scale it down, didn't take long though

I checked out Font Editor ($69). It looks very nice & would do just what you said it would and more: if you get the Pro version ($129) it will batch process the glyphs so that you don't have to do it one at a time.

Thanks very much for everyones input, but it looks like I'll be sitting the "font creation" angle out for a while to see if they fix it in the new releases. If not, I may have to consider David's option.
