Two Railing types ???

Today I found a new type of railing. Why there are 2 different types of railing?

I'm not sure I understand. You can make as many types as you want. The Revit template has a couple to get you started.

Have a closer look the parameters. As you can see that the first one doesn't have some of the railing elements that are usually there.

Any chance this is an upgraded project and one stair is "existing".

I just opened some file. May be it is old, I don't remember:Oops:
So you are saying that this railing appears after upgrading old project?
Well then mystery is solved.

A railing in an old project will not be "upgraded" when you open it in a newer version. It will retain its original settings and features until you make a new stair to replace it.
