hi everyone, im working on my roofs today and im using a truss system with a plumb cut and specifying a 6" fascia. i have 6/12 and 9/12 pitched roofs and im entering a an base offset from level - but i find im entering the same base offset for different roofs and my fascias are not lining up. i thought it was just different for the 2 different pitched roofs but now i see ive got (2) 9/12 pitched roofs with the same base offset and the fascia isn't lining up

any suggestions?

Revit calculates the roof from the base (or bottom.) Because of this, two roof at the same base with different slopes will have different top corners of roof. If you're like me, you design based on this top corner so fascias line up. You'll have to move one of the roofs up or down to line up this top corner.

We use hip systems a lot on our houses that have 2 different pitches, say 10/12 side to side and 8/12 front to back. The truss mfg. as a rule will try to maintain the same heel height by raising the higher pitch (whose facia is lower) to match the lower pitch (whose facia is higher.) You can go into sketch mode and select 'align eaves', then pick the lower pitch line, go to the options bar and choose 'adjust height' and then select all the lines that you want to match the first one you selected.
