Symbolic Lines visibility

I created a wall mounted sconce. The problem is that when I place symbolic lines they only show when the view range includes the Light Source Elevation. So I created a detail component instead and used an invisible model line to get the detail component to show at lower elevations. The problem is that now the detail component for the sconce below shows (halftoned) in the second floor plan. Any suggestions for turning off the halftoned family? Also it shows halftoned on one workstation and as a thin line on another workstation. Is there a Visibility/Graphics or other setting I don't know about?

Did you try turning off the 1st floor plan as an underlay in the view properties or am I misunderstanding what you're after?

Did you try to use a reflected ceiling plan as an underlay? I think I did that once and it would show the fixtures correctly. I would check for you right now but that project is on my computer at work so I will have to check tomorrow and then let you know.

I am sorry I did not get a chance to look at the symbolic lines issue you were having today but first thing Monday morning I will look into it. I have been with Entasis for 3 months now and I have not been this happy working for years and I am glad I made the change. The people I work with are great.
