It might be too early in the release 9 time-line to ask this question but I am looking for input on how best to use the new Detail Library function. I'm going to speculate that most of the "old-time" Revit users had projects setup (maybe based on CSI) with details dumped into drafting views. The old practice was probably to copy/paste the elements of any given drafting view into a new drafting view for your current project. With the new feature of being able to "Save Drafting Views To An External Project" and "Insert a Drafting View From Another Project" as well as improved file linking, has anyone re-thought their process. I'm still working out the pro's and con's of leaving our detail library as is, AutoCAD dwg's, linked into a Revit project or begin the long process of redrawing our details as Revit entities in a project.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this matter

The only area of this that I've given much thought to is how we deal with existing details and what I'm thinking is that we do not recreate them in Revit until we need to change them. I don't know that you really gain much by redrafting the detail (unless it's just practice using Revit).
