Is there a way to take an exist excel file an convert it to a table in AutoCAD? The reason that I am asking is that I have a file that is already set up the way I like it. So I want to convert it to a table in AutoCAD.

Thank you,

Brad

Have a good one, Mike

Hello Mike,

I tried that Mike, and I got an OLE link in which I don't want. I am still trying to figure it out.

Thank you,

Brad

I have not got AutoCAD in-front of me at the moment, but from memory try "Paste Special".

Command: _.PasteSpec

If the above is not correct, I will take a further look later today when I have access to AutoCAD ( unless someone else comes along in the meantime with an answer ).

Have a good one, Mike

What AutoCAD version?

If you mean an AutoCAD TABLE entity, then you must have 2005 or later. In that case, after copying the spreadsheet to the clipboard, use the PASTESPEC command in AutoCAD and select "AutoCAD Entities" as the type of object to paste.

If this is something you do often, you might consider a 3rd party add-on like XL2CAD (http://www.dotsoft.com/xl2cad.htm) or ToolPac (with it's Table Tools) (http://www.dotsoft.com/toolpac.htm)

Just to add a point to clarify:

This only seems to work if only some cells are selected but not all. The first time I selected all, it crashed AutoCAD.
