Structural framing in plan view

I have a structural framing family (wood truss) wich I want to display in plan view.
When I load the and place the family in my project it looks fine but it doesn't seem to respond to the view range / cut plane offset

In the family editor it does respond on changes in the view range

It seems that this family only responds to the view range setting in the family editor and keeps that setting for display in a project?
Is this correct?
Missing something?

I tried the family & got the same response (none) by changing the project cut plane height on a truss inserted in the project.

Just guessing, but it must be a corrupted family template.

Just downloaded a wood truss family from Revitcity
It also has no respons to the change of cut plane height
