I came across this guys website earlier today & was stunned

some lovely looking drawings designs details etc etc

Check out Abingdon Framing drawings (someone tell me how this was done and what was used) ~ all the rest are worth a look as well

Aspirational for me at least ~ Full Credit

Very nice work. Must be nice to have clients interested in such quality.
He says in a paragraph on the "Services" web page that he uses ADT and 3D studio.

Nice work ! I particularly like the Croft house design.

The Croft didn't appeal for some reason ~ I normally like stuff like that but I think maybe it tries too hard

My Favourite is Ireland in the Traditional section ~ I like the informal shack types more & more these days detailing is elegant as well

Definitely the Eco-Croft house gets my nod.

Nice website though - the detailing on the timber joints are fantastic. Good to see sod roofs are still being used - haven't done too many of them...

Speaking of sod roofs, I read an article in the back of Fine Homebuilding a while back. Can anyone attest to their lasting 80 to 100 years? Damn! On second thought that was a thatched roof. How long do those go between rebuilds?

Thanks,

jk

Sorry don't have direct links but google is good

Cheers

For a good site on historical sod roofs try visiting:

and a good site for thatched roofs check out http://www.thatch.org/

This is one of the better links I've been able to find for Marsh Arabs ~ at least one of the few with reasonable photos

I think the building structures are superb # totally green
