I'm working on my first details in Revit and ran into a stumper... I'm detailing a stair and I need two stringers to come together in a mitered condition. I insert the correct family, place them where they need to go and then am at a loss as to what to do next.

I tried joining them (nope), cutting one from the other (nope again). I thought I might be clever and worked out how to add a parameter to the beam family with a region to hide part of the channel... it works until I need to put them together and then not so much (unless maybe there's a better way to do it).

So how do I do this? And please don't say draw it with lines... <g>

<edit>

Hey! I think I figured it out!

I rethought how I might change the family and instead of using a region to hide the beam extension I modified the region for the beam itself and locked it to a reference line! Works fine... though it could be just a bit easier (I have to figure out the angle it needs to miter at manually even though the parameter is an instance).

If there's a better solution I'd love to hear it!
