Hello.

I assisted yesterday a demonstration of "Revit Structural 3", I had seen there is a few months version 2.

That seems to me interesting but for the establishment in a large company, a good session of formation will be necessary because the methodology of works is extremely different that for Autocad.

I live in province of Quebec (Canada) and here the questions that a user of the company posed to me and that I pose to you in my turn:

It there does this have at present or is to come soon, of Structural steel shaped (W, C, L...) Canadians?

So not, is this possible to import some of another produced (Autodesk or not)?

So not yet is once, which is the method and simple to create sections and to add them in the data bases current or a news?

And if new sections and/or forms and/or assemblies must be created, is this the same procedure to be followed as asked in the preceding question and which type of file this is?

Thank you with all for (them) the answer to come...

Bye!

Thank you Rick for this answer.

I knew that the steel sections are in systems imperial and metric in "Revit" but what a colleague of work (draughtsman) said to me, it is that there are of them some which are not there.

I don't know dimensions of these "W, C, L, T" specifically of Canadian standard but they miss product "Revit Structural"..., perhaps because this module still too recent and is established little for the moment in Canada?

I thus will inform my colleague to try to create new steel parts, starting from existing models or not.

If ever a member of AUGI has additional information on this subject... I hope that you to go to inform me?

Bye!

NOTE: Thank you Rick for the French effort, do you have make like me and used "Google Translate"???

Stephan,

There are TXT files associated with each of the families I mentioned. You can just add additional members in the TXT files in the same format as the existing ones. It is very easy but you should save copies of the originals before modifying them.
