Dwg and Dxf in a family

I just cant get these to lock and stay locked to ref planes?? they always make the constraints not work.

They dont appear to display correctly either when I usen them in a detail component family, when I use it there are bits missing - layers I think?

Bugs?

I have had lots of issues with DWG files (a little less with DXF). Like you say, they don't always lock, sometimes they won't let you change them. Could it be that there are blocks in the file that aren't exploded? I don't think it's that simple.
