Menu fails to display from macro

I've had a problem where if I type -cuiload and -cuiunload at the commandline, my menu loads and unloads fine, however when I add the exact same key sequence as a menu macro, the menu loads, but doesn't display.

If you are using those commands frequently, then you are not using workspaces to your best advantage.
