I posted an item on the wish list about callout tags, and how I would like the graphic representation on my sheet to not be attached to the crop region on the callout. Is there a work around for this problem?

The only thing I can think of is to turn off callouts in the view (V/G) and draft the boundary with linework wherever you want it....and place a "dumb" tag. It's very un-Revit-like, but I can't see another way.

An interesting point on this issue... if you create a callout that reference a detail the size of the callout has not relationship to the detail extents... not sure exactly if that could solve the problem... maybe all your details could be drafting views instead of pulling from the model - you'd have to have the detail created (or at least started) before you could tag it but it should solve your problem (though not ideal)

You can hide the original callout and then reference it with a new smaller callout.
