If you have similar doors in your building, can you have the same tag number as you can with window tags?

Sure, but you can't use the stock door tag. You need to make one that "grabs" the TYPE MARK parameter instead of the MARK parameter.

You need to make sure you don't have different door families that have a TYPE MARK in common. If you've grabbed them from different sources it is possible.

Doors usually carry an individual number because they often are the "same" door but get different features like hardware sets for example. Thus, the stock tag grabs the individual ID instead. We'd be in for big trouble if we tried to identify doors en masse but if it works for you...great! Lucky you!
