Remove Shape definitions / references from drawing file

Once i import my shape files into my drawing, i do modifications and so forth, Now i would like to get rid off the shape file that i had imported. Because the file is too big. How would i be able to remove the shape file from the drawing.

If it is unreferenced you can just Purge it out with the PURGE command.
