Dispaly of Structural Col. in Linked File

I have a shell building that is a pre-eng metal bldg. The frames are families imported into the project as Structural Columns. When I make a fit-up project and link the shell I get what I decibel as a "node point" for each of the column families (a circle with a solid square @ the center.) These nodes do not show up in the shell model. I cannot figure out how to turn off the nodes without also turning off the building frames.

Any ideas?

I found it. I had to set my display settings for the linked file to custom on the Basics tab, then go to the Model Categories tab, set that to custom, then click "Show categories from all disciplines" and then under the Structural Columns category, turn off Analytical model.

If anyone doesn't understand what I just said and needs to "see" it I can post some screen shots.

can you capture these settings within a veiw template and in turn apply to many views?
